Representative Royce Adams to retire at end of year

After 20 years of service to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Representative Royce Adams today announced that he will retire from the legislature at the end of 2012 due to health-related reasons.

Rep. Adams has represented the citizens of Grant, Owen, and Gallatin counties since 1992, and serves as Vice-Chair of the Agriculture and Small Business Committee.  “I recently filed for re-election with every intention of continuing to serve, but after much prayer and soul-searching my family and I have come to accept the medical advice that it would not be wise for me to do so.”

“It has been the honor and privilege of my life to have served the citizens of our community and to represent their values in Frankfort,” says Rep. Adams.

Representative Adams is enthusiastically endorsing the candidacy of Wanda Hammons of Dry Ridge to replace him. Hammons is a life-long friend  and the daughter of former Representative Clay Crupper.

“I deeply admire Wanda’s commitment to the values our community holds dear, and I know she will be a worthy public servant and energetic advocate for the citizens of the 61st House District.”
